Perched in the Hollywood Hills just steps from the iconic Hollywood Bowl, this post-and-beam midcentury modern home was reimagined for award-winning musician, songwriter, actor, and entertainer John Legend. What began as a focused kitchen and master suite renovation quickly evolved into a full-scale transformation of both the interiors and exteriors.

The full-scale makeover honors the home’s midcentury character while introducing thoughtful modern upgrades. Unique custom detailing is woven throughout, blending timeless design with contemporary function. Outdoor spaces were redefined with lush landscaping, an inviting exterior bath open to the sky, and seamless connections between inside and out.

Tailored to the client’s creative lifestyle, the design also integrates a state-of-the-art home recording studio—balancing performance-level acoustics with residential comfort. The result is a holistic renovation that reflects the spirit of midcentury modernism while supporting the artistry and daily life of its celebrated owner.
